Wilmer Cutler Lays Off 57 Staff Members

Posted by Matt Straquadine

CORRECTION - An earlier version of this story carried an incorrect headline with respect to the nature of job cuts at Wilmer Cutler. The layoffs affect staff members. We regret the error.

Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr has cut 57 staff members, including paralegals and secretaries, from four different offices, reports The National Law Journal, a sibling publication.

The layoffs were reported Thursday. The biggest reductions are in Wilmer's Boston and Washington, D.C., offices, the NLJ reports.

"Following a careful review, we have decided to reduce the number of support staff in four of our offices," co-managing partners William Lee and William Perlstein said in a statement. "Our decision to realign overall staffing levels better positions us to respond to a changed business landscape and provide the highest quality legal services in a more cost-effective manner."
