Cozen Picks Up Ex-'Pack' Leader

Posted by Brian Baxter

While more than a third of the lawyers from disbanding Philadelphia firm WolfBlock have found new packs to call home, some big dogs still prowl the legal wilderness looking for other lawyers to run with.

Sibling publication The Legal Intelligencer reports that one of those individuals, former WolfBlock chairman Mark Alderman, has now landed at fellow Philly firm Cozen O'Connor.

TLI reports that Alderman will join 65 other former WolfBlock lawyers at Cozen, which once entertained merger talks with the firm.

Alderman will work in Cozen's government relations practice.

That practice group took a big hit this week when its cohead, Raymond Harding, was charged by New York state attorney general Andrew Cuomo with pocketing fees for political favors for former New York comptroller Alan Hevesi.

Cozen's also made news lately thanks to a public spat with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett's Barry Ostrager over advice Cozen gave Chubb Insurance in a case currently before the U.S. Supreme Court.

As Cesar Millan would say, sounds like Cozen could use another pack leader.
