Live Blogging the Madoff Hearing: Waiting for Bernie

Posted by Brian Baxter

MediaCircus

Individuals have started entering courtroom 24B but so far no Madoff sighting.

Much has been made about victims being allowed to speak at today's hearing before U.S. district court judge Denny Chin.

Since Madoff is expected to enter a guilty plea to all 11 counts against him, it will be up to Judge Chin to decide whether or not to accept the plea.

It’s thought that Chin will then ask victims if he should accept Madoff's plea and if Madoff should be allowed to remain under house arrest prior to his expected sentencing a few months from now.

Just how many victims will be allowed to speak is uncertain.
