Heller Faces Class Action Lawsuit From Laid-Off Staff
Posted by Ed Shanahan
Sibling publication The Recorder reports that three laid-off Heller Ehrman employees are suing the firm over money they feel they're owed.
The class action complaint is asking for a jury trial over vacation and other pay these employees say they've been denied since they were layed off. "The complaint proposes various classes, to potentially cover "hundreds"
of staff and associates who have been or will be terminated since
shortly after the firm's vote to dissolve," the paper reports. (Download Heller Complaint.)
Matthew Helland, an attorney at Nichols
Kaster, filed the claim in the U.S. District Court for the
Northern District of California yesterday. Helland is working with Nichols Kaster Minneapolis-based partners James Kaster and Paul Lukas.
