Chadbourne Elects New Managing Partner
Posted by Ed Shanahan
Chadbourne executive partner Andrew Giaccia (pictured right)--who also serves as managing partner of the D.C. office--is stepping into the role filled by O'Neill for the past 13 years. He will relocate to New York as part of the transition.
"I am honored to have been elected as Charlie's successor and will work hard to sustain the impressive record of growth and international recognition the firm has experienced under his guidance," Giaccia, 51, said in a statement.
O'Neill, 63, remains a partner at the firm, the NYLJ reports. Going forward, he will focus on Chadbourne's further expansion and development of its international offices. He oversaw more than a decade of international growth for the firm, opening branches in Warsaw, Kazakhstan, Dubai, and Mexico City, among other locations. The firm plans to "expand our already sophisticated offerings and bolster our practices in a number of key industries and geographic regions," Giaccia said in the statement.
Chadbourne, which came in at 96th on this year's Am Law 100 ranking, had gross revenue of $281.5 million in 2009--a drop of 1.6 percent from 2008. Profits per partner decreased 2.4 percent in 2009 to $1.2 million.
