Steven Tonsfeldt has had quite the topsy-turvy career in Silicon Valley. The M&A lawyer has done stints at Brobeck, Venture Law Group, and, most recently, Heller Ehrman--three firms that are no more. THE AM LAW 100: Hogan & Hartson's Profits Flat in 2008

Sonnenschein to Shutter Charlotte Office
Less than two years after Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal announced the opening of its Charlotte office, partners voted this afternoon to close up shop in the battered banking center. The decision affects 11 lawyers and eight staff members.

Davis Polk, Cleary, Sidley, Hogan, Gibson Dunn All on Citi Deal
It may not amount to a nationalization, but the government's decision to take up to a 36 percent stake in Citigroup today provided a ton of legal work for Am Law firms advising Citi and private investors who are converting preferred stock to common shares along with the Treasury Department.
