Big D.C. Law Firms Bet Big On Obama
Posted by Dimitra Kessenides
So far this election cycle, lawyers and other staffers from the Washington, D.C.-area's top grossing firms have donated more than three times as much money to Democrat Barack Obama as they have to Republican John McCain, according to Am Law Daily sibling publication Legal Times.
To date, Obama has raked in some $1.5 million; McCain has collected about $450,000.
"The Obama contributions already dwarf the $936,000 given by D.C. 20 firms to the Kerry-Edwards ticket at this point in 2004," the paper reports. "The 2004 Republican ticket—led by President George W. Bush—had collected $483,000 during the same period, according to the Center for Responsive Politics".
