Ohio Governor Names Dann's Replacement
Posted by Zach Lowe
Ohio's governor turned to the (sometimes) hallowed world of academia in tapping Ohio State University's law school dean as an interim replacement for disgraced ex-Attorney General Marc Dann.
Nancy Hardin Rogers will serve as Dann's interim replacement after Dann, a Democrat, stepped down amid sexual harassment charges and his own admission of an extramarital affair with a subordinate.
Rogers does not plan to run for a full term as Attorney General in November, said Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland, according to AP reports today.
Rogers--a Yale Law School graduate--has led OSU's Moritz College of Law since 2001. She joined the faculty of the law school in 1976, according to her curriculum vitae, and has focused on dispute resolution.
In a statement released Wednesday, Rogers said she hoped to move the state past the Dann scandal, even as new e-mails released that same day describe a stormy personal relationship between the former Attorney General and his assistant.
"It's a shame that the actions of a limited number of persons have undermined the public confidence in this office," Rogers said.
