DLA's Schulman Lands Pfizer GC Job
Posted by Zach Lowe
The Wall Street Journal reports that DLA's Amy Schulman--a litigator who led Pfizer's defense in the Celebrex and Bextra lawsuits--has stepped into the general counsel job at Pfizer.
The move was announced earlier this morning in a statement released by the company.
"I am honored to join Pfizer, a company with a long and impressive history of pharmaceutical innovation," Schulman said.
Schulman will report directly to Pfizer CEO Jeffrey Kindler. Her salary and benefits package hasn't been disclosed. According to the WSJ report, Schulman raked in about $5.75 million last year.
Who's most likely to take the lead on Pfizer's work at DLA Piper? Our bet is Loren Brown, a New York-based partner who worked on the Celebrex and Bextra liability cases and made The American Lawyer's "Fab Fifty" list of young litigators in 2007.
